Sustainability Spotlight – Quarter 3

I can’t wait to share with you all what we have been up to this quarter!

Assisting tracker academy – We have been assisting the Tracker Academy this quarter with free recruitment services for a very exciting role. Applications are now closed but keep an eye on our page for more conservation focused roles.

Visit to the Vervet Monkey Sanctuary – Hayley recently visited one of our non-profit partners, the Vervet Monkey Sanctuary in Tzaneen. She was given the full history, tour & introduced to many monkeys all with different stories. They are doing truly amazing work & are often looking for passionate volunteers. We assist them in both sourcing volunteers & even recently partnered with a hospitality school which is also a non-profit to get their chef student some valuable experience so a win/win for all! Find out more about them here: Vervet Monkey Sanctuary

Halo (Hoedspruit animal outreach) – We donated to Halo so that they can purchase some much-needed dog collars/leads for the community dogs.

What’s app community for job seekers for free – Hayley has started a FREE career coaching whats app community & is posting career advice, tips & supportive information on a weekly basis. The community has 60 people so far & all & everyone are welcome to join HERE.

Went to The Good Life Show –   I went to the Johannesburg Good Life Show which was a combination of The Plant-Powered Show (Africa’s premier plant-based food, drink & conscious living event), Natural & Organic Show (Powered by Nature), FreeFrom Show (Embrace the Alternatives) & SustainEx (Live and love the sustainable life). It was truly amazing to see how quickly the vegan industry is growing and how innovative people are with the wide range of products and services available.

What’s app vegan jobs community – We have a Vegan Whats app community where we post vacancies and volunteer opportunities that are values aligned – to join us follow this LINK

Promotion to head recruiter for VJA – With us focusing more so on Vegan Jobs Africa, I can share that I have been promoted to Head Recruiter! We are also actively looking for a new recruiter who would work for both Vegan Jobs Africa & Wild Dreams, so if you are looking for a career where you can help others, all with a vegan ethos behind everything we do then you can apply via this LINK.

Funky socks – On the 13th of September the whole herd got dressed in their Funkiest socks in support for Breadline Africa. This is an initiative to support children in need & raising much needed funds for essential school supplies.

Timbavati Traverse – The Timbavati Traverse took place on 21st September, the day before World Rhino Day which is very fitting as the event is to raise funds for conservation & community, with a focus on the Rhinos of the Timbavati. Hayley is a founding committee member & has been helping to organize this for a few years. The final tally of funds has yet to be calculated at the time of us writing this, but we are hoping it is in the direction of a million rand! If you sponsored this event in any way, we thank you so much!

Wild Shots – We are in talks with Wild Shots about a possible collaboration for their students’ bursaries – we hope to share more in our next newsletter.

Vegan Hospitality/Green Globe – Hayley did a webinar on the link between sustainability & menu planning through her role at Vegan Hospitality for Green Globes clients, over 100 people signed up representing over 30 countries.

Vegan Hospitality Conference – Hayley is in planning stages of the next online conference with Vegan Hospitality, with this year’s theme being on trends & predictions for the industry. To sign up for free, you can fill in a short form on this PAGE. It takes place online on 1 November for world vegan day & we will share how this went in our next newsletter.
