Welcome to our third Sustainability Spotlight of 2025! As we continue our journey through the year, we’re excited to share the meaningful strides we’ve made, the partnerships that inspire us, and the initiatives that are shaping a more sustainable future. This quarter has been filled with growth, collaboration, and a shared commitment to positive change.
Hayley’s ProVeg Trip
Our founder, Hayley in her role as Co-founder of a non-profit called Vegan Hospitality was selected in the top 2% for the Proveg Kickstarter for Good Incubator. This is basically 5 months of intensive training, mentorship & plenty of tasks that she & her co-founder go through in order to set up a successful (& hopefully funded) non-profit! It came at the perfect time for them & she has already learnt so much. Much of this she is already applying to Wild Dreams as what she is learning is very much transferable & not always non-profit specific. Most of this work is online, however she recently returned from Europe for the first in-person sessions. She spent the first week in Berlin, Germany & then a few days at an animal rights conference in Warsaw, Poland – a place she never expected to visit to that is exciting! She will be back to Germany again in November to pitch to investors so be sure to check out our year end spotlight where we will share more about this there.
Timbavati Traverse: Board Involvement
Hayley continues to serve on the board of the Timbavati Traverse, an initiative dedicated to conservation and community upliftment. The event took place this quarter and was a great success! Wild Dreams also donates to the cause each year, and Hayley is already starting to plan for the 2026 event!
Breadline Africa Funky Socks Day
For the second consecutive year, we participated in Breadline Africa’s Funky Socks Day. This fun and colorful event raises awareness and funds for the organization’s efforts to provide educational resources to underprivileged communities. It’s a small gesture with a big impact, and we’re proud to support such a worthy cause.
Nett Kind Website Launched
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Nett Kind’s website (www.nettkind.com). Nett Kind is our sister company that is focused on recruitment, training and consulting on a global scale for companies making a Nett Positive impact in the world! This can be in helping animals, the environment or communities! If you want to learn more about Nett Kind – head to the website to learn more about us!
Upcoming Work-Ready Workshop
We’re thrilled to be hosting a Work-Ready Workshop called ‘’Career Kickstarter’’ in collaboration with six incredible non-profits. This initiative is designed to equip participants with practical skills, confidence, and guidance to step into the workforce successfully. From CV writing and interview preparation to soft skills and personal branding, the workshop covers everything someone needs to feel ready and empowered to take the next step in their career.
For organisations interested in learning more about this, please reach out to Dominique at dominique@wilddreams.co.za.
Interns with 100% Success Rate
Over the last few years, we’ve had three interns join our team, and we’re proud to say that all of them have successfully moved into roles that align with their values and career goals. Each placement has been a unique journey, providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world projects in sustainability, hospitality, and social impact.
This 100% success rate isn’t just a number, it reflects our ongoing commitment to creating meaningful opportunities that empower young professionals to grow, make an impact, and take confident steps toward their dream careers.
We have just taken on a new intern for Wild Dreams, Kayla who is wanting to learn more about the industry before she moves into her dream job working in lodges. Before we take on an intern we always look at if they would be suitable for the role, but importantly if we can help them as this is a partnership and we have no doubt she will find a lodge role after our mentorship.
We’re currently looking for a vegan intern to join the Nett Kind team. If you’re passionate about sustainability and making a difference, reach out to Dominique at dominique@nettkind.com.
Donation of the Quarter
We’re proud to share that for Q3 we’ll be supporting HALO (Hoedspruit Animal Outreach), a volunteer-run nonprofit in Limpopo committed to improving the lives of community animals in rural areas. They do this through vaccination, sterilisation, rescue, emergency care, and education programmes.
Over the years, HALO has delivered tens of thousands of health checks, sterilised hundreds of dogs, and vaccinated thousands. They operate across multiple communities where free veterinary care is often inaccessible.
Want to learn more about their work or donate directly? Visit halooutreach.co.za or check out their “Donate” page.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the final quarter of the year, we’re excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. From expanding our partnerships to launching new initiatives, we’re committed to making a positive impact in every way we can. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
