SUSTAINABILITY SPOTLIGHT – Quarter 2, 2025
Welcome to our second Sustainability Spotlight of 2025! As we move through the heart of the year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible work that’s been done, the inspiring partnerships that continue to grow, and the exciting developments that are shaping our future. From powerful workshops to meaningful events and new beginnings, this quarter has been full of momentum and positive energy.
Empowering Youth Through Virtual Workshops
This quarter, we had the privilege of hosting a virtual Work-Ready Workshop in collaboration with the Timbavati Foundation. It’s always a joy to connect with young people and equip them with tools that build confidence, sharpen their career focus, and prepare them for real-world opportunities. These workshops form a big part of our mission to make careers in hospitality more accessible and impactful, especially for those in rural and under-resourced communities.
Celebrating Community with Nourish
Hayley attended an inspiring event hosted by Nourish Eco Village, a long-time partner whose community-centred approach continues to align with our own values. From sustainability to education and economic upliftment, Nourish is doing remarkable work, and being able to show up in person, learn, and share ideas was a highlight of the quarter. We’re always so grateful for opportunities to deepen these connections.
The Good Life Show – Cape Town & Beyond
We were thrilled to be part of The Good Life Show in Cape Town once again this year. Our ticket giveaway on social media was a hit, and we loved being able to connect our audience to an event that champions plant-based living and conscious consumerism. We’ll soon be gearing up for the Johannesburg edition, so keep an eye on our platforms for news and giveaways as we get closer!
The Nett Kind Rebrand – A Fresh New Look with the Same Heart
One of the most exciting developments this quarter was the rebrand of Nett Kind, our sister brand focused on supporting businesses and non-profits working for positive change. With new colours, updated visuals, and a clearer sense of identity, Nett Kind is more aligned than ever with its mission: to support those doing good, so they can do even more. Stay tuned for the launch of the website later this year!
Workshops, Masterclass & Free Resources
This quarter has been full of career support initiatives that we’re incredibly proud of. We hosted two Masterclass sessions – a Career Clarity Masterclass and a CV Masterclass. Both were designed to give job seekers the clarity, confidence, and practical tools needed to take the next step in their career journeys.
Alongside these webinars, we also released a range of free resources to support our community, including our How to Craft a Food Portfolio e-book, a CV Tips e-book, and an Interview Tips e-book. Each one is aimed at helping job seekers put their best foot forward in an increasingly competitive industry.
We’re continuing conversations with a number of non-profits to roll out Work-Ready Workshops in local communities. These partnerships are incredibly close to our hearts, and we look forward to sharing more about their impact in our next Spotlight.
Behind the Scenes – Growing Our Team
We’re so proud to share that we’ve recently welcomed an intern, Maritza, to the Wild Dreams team. Supporting internships is something we deeply believe in – they’re not just a stepping stone, but a powerful way to help people gain real experience and get their foot in the door. Creating space for learning, growth, and new perspectives is something we value, and we’re excited to be part of Maritza’s journey.
Organisation of the Quarter – Supporting Greater Kruger Alley Cat Initiative
Each quarter, we donate a portion of our profits to an organisation making a meaningful impact – and this time, we’re proud to support the Greater Kruger Alley Cat Initiative. Their work focuses on the humane management of feral cat populations in the Greater Kruger area through sterilisation, education, and outreach. It’s a cause that not only protects animal welfare but also supports broader ecosystem health.
We’re so inspired by the work they do and grateful to be able to contribute to their mission. If you know of a non-profit making a difference for people, animals, or the planet, we’d love to hear about them as we continue this initiative each quarter.
Looking Ahead
Quarter 3 is already shaping up to be an exciting time – from the Johannesburg Good Life Show, to more community partnerships, and continued resources to support job seekers and changemakers. We can’t wait to share what’s next with you.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
